Lacy

lacySign: Cancer

Born: Appleton, WI

Lacy Hardy founded the Sunflower Spa in March 2003, prompted by wanting to make a difference    in people’s health and lives. She transformed her lifestyle and career from a fast-paced Denver Corporate Technical Recruiter to a Spa Owner in Appleton, Wisconsin.

As well running the business, Lacy also is a Massage Practitioner and Licensed Massage Therapist and Esthetician. Lacy received her Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in business and communications from University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and graduated in December of 1997. In the beginning of 1998 Lacy packed her bags and moved to Colorado without knowing a single soul to pursue a different experience. Lacy ended up in corporate America recruiting for a number of technical companies in the Denver market, however; she always wanted to pursue her passion – massage therapy. In the beginning of 2001, the market took a plummet and Lacy was laid off from her corporate recruiting position – but it was a blessing in disguise – this gave her the opportunity to pursue her dreams.

Lacy did just that, she enrolled at the Golden Institute of Massage in Golden, CO where received 1,000 hours certification of massage therapy training in March 2003. Lacy started the Sunflower Spa in Denver where it was a very small practice and then in October 2003 she moved back to her hometown, Appleton, WI. The Sunflower Spa reopened January 21, 2003 in Appleton, WI offering massage therapy, body wraps, Skin Care, and Waxing. Lacy is also a Certified Yoga Instructor and received her training at Feel Your Best Yoga in Mequon, WI. Lacy is also a Licensed Massage and Esthetician.  Lacy continues to grow her business while being very involved in the community and continuing her education in the realm of wellness.

In her spare time, she is very active, loves to travel, and do anything active in the outdoors with her husband Todd and dogs LuLu and Otis. Lacy’s philosophy on life is “live today like it is your last day on earth or whatever planet you may be on that day”. When we asked Lacy why she loves what she does she stated “Because I am the appointment people look forward to! I love being apart of helping someone achieve optimal health and educating them on their bodies. I love the challenges of the business side of things too. I am passionate about what I do and that shows up in my work!” Lacy would like to retire out west in the mountains or by a large body of water, ride the ebbs and flow of life weather is be on the snow or water.
